Redemption
Shackles on their wrists,
Bowing down with clenched fists
A battle for the ages,
A war with seldom wages
A fight that need not be fought,
Yet pain and suffering is what was taught
We see hurt in a soldier’s eyes
As we sing them their final lullabies
Goodbye forever, we knew you not by name
Though this fate of yours will soon be your fame
