Redeemed

He had tried almost everything but it was all to no avail
His heart still did not sing and often it would just wail
With his frustration at a peak, his heart at it’s wits end
A new way he had to seek if his heart was ever to mend

Throwing his hands up in the air, he decided to just pray
This heart so stripped and bare had finally found the Way
And as he cried out with a heart that was now contrite
He began losing the doubt keeping him from winning this fight

As he awoke the next day he felt a new spirit inside
Going about his way he felt a renewed sense of pride
Problems, he would still face but he took them in stride
For now he knew of God’s Grace and how for our sins He died

Now having a big smile on his face everyone began to notice
Having such a warm inner grace that you just couldn’t miss
And when people asked him why he was always quick to say
It doesn’t matter how hard you try, it’s all useless until you pray
