Red, White, and Blue

Red petals attract
Every eye and head turned to
Gardens of Surprise

Columns supporting
White ceilings looming so high
Cracking over time

Blue vapors seeping
Low notes soaring to the depths
Sung by compromised ladies

Red pilgrimage made
Engraved names lovingly touched
Thoughts sliding backwards

Humid white clouds cry
Tearful chants for the dying
Over white-washed walls

Blue flames flickering
Gasping for the air to breathe
Time will not heal wounds

Red bleeding fountains
Spurting out toward the sky
Evaporating

Searching for release
