Red Robin

Out of my window
I see a robin,
Proud red breasted bird,
He's in my garden
Hopping and chirping,
No care in the world.

I sure enjoyed the only red robin I've ever seen - out of my friend's window in Pittsburgh. They don't have 'em where I live in Los Angeles.

A charming little nature vignette, this poem captures the robin’s bright, carefree presence in a warmly observed garden scene. Its short lines and simple, direct language mirror the bird’s light hopping and chirping, while “Proud red breasted bird” gives the portrait an affectionate, vivid centre. We have yellow breasted robins here. They fly down and get insects behind the mower.

The red robin, our national bird here in England, is tiny in comparison to your emu. However, its cheekiness more than makes up for its diminutive size. They are very tame and extremely territorial. The one in our garden is always beside me in search of worms when I'm busy planting. My favourite little bird. Thanks for your visit.

Thank you for your visit, Hiya. I wrote this for a competition. Five syllables max per line is quite restrictive and doesn't allow one to say much.
