Red Nectar

The blade lowers to my skin and time stands still.
Can i do it?
can i kill myself?
Can i slash my wrist?
Can i cut so deeply that the pain of my past seeps out?
Time starts to move again
the blade feels cool against my skin
i slowly slide it across
and the blood, my blood
the sweet red nectar that gives me life,
seeps slowly out of me
i smile and say goodbye
no more pain, no more tears, no more worries
and as i slip into darkness
my last thought is that i'm finally going to be happy.
