Red Man's Road
Look again, fair run of spent,
the avenues thy gaul has filled,
while thriving on man's discontent
you poison truth of his self willed!
Tomorrow's venture you resent
for sorrow hastens purpose billed
of your conditional intent
to alcoholic's fostered milled!
How many cans you throw away,
I've seen them piled in dumpster's rent,
a poor man's son you pass your stay,
while others move their riches meant!
How many tithes in church, I pray
can close your border's illness bent,
were God the choice another day,
the lessons on thy shoulder's scant ~
Seem only thine to shrug, while fray
is not imposing ~ thee distant
refuse to notice crosses lay
upon the Red Man's road ~ instant!
While on their weakness you do prey ~
A soul in bondage . . . . ever's went!
