Rectification of the Death of Society
Petals of a dying rose,
answers I should not suppose.
To those still with life I propose
that the propensities
and proprieties
of dull and dying societies
be cast
out of our anxieties.
For those who commit such travesties
to those who create perfect families.
Paling to preposterous powers
to this compare a dying flower.
In life or death
lives the lives of the living
and dies the dismal day-dreams of the dreary traveler.
Rhymes in word
and the rhythm of my rectifying pen
rapidly recall raptures and revelations of my priors.
Downfall of moral rites, time to fight the good fight.
Atrocities committed by audacious animal
pull for the powers
that dim and dull the dieing flowers.
