Recognize the Power

each word has a power
every sentence is a spell
cast to uplift or devour
sent from heaven or hell
    when a heart is right
    you know that words can bring
    the sweetest warmth of light
    and make an angel sing
but when a heart is wrong
words can and do destroy
singing the darkest song
to an innocent girl or boy
