Recluse

Why has happinest abandoned me?
I know not how it feels to behold glee.
My soul yearns to be free,
Oh Lord take away this misery.

I dread a thing called tomorrow,
Because it brings much sorrow.
I want this pain to flee,
Oh Lord take away this misery.

I am nothing but a mere recluse,
Please tell me what’s the use?
Utter darkness is all I can see,
Oh Lord take away this misery.

Why must I hope in hope,
When I find it hard to cope,
Is there anything for the weary?
Oh Lord take away this misery.

This is a fictional write. And my first attempt at the Kyrielle form.

Very artfully done Kryielle, Alexis. The soul rending questions asks perplexes all of us at one time or another. Beautiful prayer poem, my dear friend. I've never attempted this form ... but I think it would come quite naturally for me. But you handled it successfully. Wonderful poem. Love and joy always.

Alexis, nicely penned. I have a hard time writing about sadness when I’m not feeling that way, I really have to dig deep. Nice job with this form, I had not seen it before. John
