Recluse

Why has happinest abandoned me?
I know not how it feels to behold glee.
My soul yearns to be free,
Oh Lord take away this misery.

I dread a thing called tomorrow,
Because it brings much sorrow.
I want this pain to flee,
Oh Lord take away this misery.

I am nothing but a mere recluse,
Please tell me what’s the use?
Utter darkness is all I can see,
Oh Lord take away this misery.

Why must I hope in hope,
When I find it hard to cope,
Is there anything for the weary?
Oh Lord take away this misery.


This is a fictional write. And my first attempt at the Kyrielle form.

Beautiful prayer poem, my dear friend. I've never attempted this form ... but I think it would come quite naturally for me. But you handled it successfully. Wonderful poem. Love and joy always.
