Reckoning

The horsemen rode as it was foretold
The cherished Earth would soon explode
The seals were opened, and love grew cold
While they hoarded their silver and gold

 The stars came falling down
 And many trembled with fear
A reckoning would soon take place
As angels flew from here to there

Then the trumpets began to sound
The sea sighed and the mountains wept
From the sky, the Earth was swept

This was beautifully excited Joseph! A fav for me! You started all doomsday but in the end felt like peace in a way I guess you can say!

This is a very interesting one. Love the image of the stars falling, sea sighed and mountains wept

You capture the end of the world uniquely.

Poetic images of Revelation exquisitely written, Joseph! You have captured so much in your three stanzas - a very biblical number - three persons of God, three days in the tomb, three wisemen, three gifts, three temptations, three denials, three patriarchs. I love the physical symbolism in your poem. I once was asked to do a 45 minute program on Revelation, Yikes! I focused on the tree with leaves for healing of the nations. Thank you for this gem. Blessings of joy to you!
