Recipe For Love

I was going through the motions, Just doing what I see; My identity was constructed From what I saw on TV I was immature before You opened me up to see A life much fuller Than I ever thought it could be. You taught me to make love, And not the birds and the bees.. Love is much greater that sex And much harder to achieve What it takes to make it Is such a simple recipe, But it just takes a little time To grow the ingredients you need First, it takes being kind, And much patience, indeed, Next, it takes weeding out All the selfishness and greed Then, you must implant the trust, Which is the most important seed; It takes so much to develop, Yet, it dies so easily… Now, after you’ve grown your harvest, It’s finally time to reap, And enjoy what you created - A fresh, organic masterpiece Containing nothing bitter, Always a pleasant thing to eat, Always easy to digest, Leading to a peaceful sleep Love always leads to satisfaction, Making whole and complete, Not empty like the hungry soul, Who thinks sour is sweet...
