Remember recess? For me, it made the school day.

Recess By Franklin Price 5/5/2016 Recess, recess I cannot wait Here at my desk alone A little boredom is my fate Like a dog without a bone Trying not to run my mouth Brings on the teacher's rants So anxious for the bell to ring I'm about to wet my pants There it is, it loudly rings It's so hard not to run To get outside and play awhile This part of school is fun The monkey bars are waiting The see-saws are at hand The swings with boards are ready To fly high, bail out and land Might play a little dodge ball Or a little keep-away Or maybe some red rover Is what we'll play today Teams are chosen school yard style Never want to be the last Makes me feel I'm not so talented Not big enough or fast Finally I am chosen Playing games a wondrous thing Too soon recess is over As the bell begins to ring Not too fast to get to class As another recess ends To leave the field of play outside And the games we played with all our friends
