REBELLIOUS

A rebellious act is not always a showing of disrespect
It may be an activity for a right you’re trying to protect
Every fiat and decree issued by an agency of the government
Will alienate some creating disapproval and discontent
The reaction by the issuer to the noncomplying reply
Will lead to further upheavals and failure to comply
If cooler heads fail to provide prudent leadership
The seeds may be sown for a tyrannical dictatorship
Every government is oppressive by its very structure
Each agency within develops its own governing culture
Each attempts to lead the charge into the way things are done
To gain power and by legislation force the public to succumb
To the guidance and knowledge of at hand ideologues
Who’s best assessment of the public, a pond full of frogs.
A freedom lost returns not by itself, it takes sacrifice
Vigilant attention is the paradigm of a freedoms life
