Notes About The Poem

Every moment and every second of the day, we are choosing and deciding, our reasons of what, why, and why not. There are plenteous reasons to choose from. Some decide their reasons to appease their consciences, some have no conscience; but can never argue, there are reasons we do what we do, say what we say, and live how we live; but there’s an accountability which we all must pay. If we don’t get things right in this one life... our reasons will verily, verily, not matter in the life to come called eternity.

Reasons Plentious Tree

REASONS A PLENTEOUS TREE

Reasons are the fruit of a plenteous tree.
Pick your reasons, however many there be.

Reasons to start, to finish, to stop.
Reasons to care, and reasons to not.

To decide to give in, or never give up,
To decide that you’ve had or have not had enough.

Reasons to dislike, like, love, or hate,
To come together or divide and berate.

To uphold a truth to the heavens high,
To cower in fear and protect a lie.

To love and cover a multitude of fault,
To cherish an upbringing lovingly taught.

A plenteous tree of reasons, from whence to choose.
Your own tree of life, to gain or to lose.
