Reaper's Return

The silence was broken, By the slamming of the door, I seen the wood splinter, The hinges hit the floor, I knew then it was coming, That’s when I started to shake, It wasn’t from any fear inside me, This was something I could take, I didn’t hear any footsteps, Yet there was another presence in the room, So I just started laughing, There was nothing left for me to do. No harsh words need be spoken, I see the glowing fire in your eyes, So much has been left broken, Your visit was no surprise to me tonight, Go ahead and try to take what you have come for, You know I’ve cheated you once so I won’t run, So much time has passed so I won’t ask for anymore, I’ve dodged the bullets from your loaded guns. That’s when I heard your breathing, Burning hot against my neck, You have been let down because I’m not screaming, I figured you would know better than that, There’s no aggression within me, As the darkness of night comes around, Yes the silence is deafening, I can clearly hear my heart pound, I guess you and I will go walking, Out into the night, The stars seem to be shining brighter, The moon looking down on me is a beautiful sight, I accept the coolness of this fresh air, As it fills these lungs, The dark horse approaches and I have no despair, I knew one day that the reaper would come, I wonder will he once again pass by, Could he be looking just for me? My mind floats back to another time, Can I cheat him again I guess soon we will see….
