Realization

My comprehension of people is narrowing too thin
It is stuck going in circles, lost in an endless whirlwind
Of love versus hate and sorrow embarrassed by grief
Over unimagined things by dull minds not willing to see
With unlistening ears eavesdropping in disbelief
To stand by and watch, stealing from what I need
Taking my kindness for weakness, another pointless fight
That scares me back into myself with nowhere to hide
I have dreams of being enough to matter
For kept promises and hope not left to shatter
And wishes on stars that I can believe in
Unconditional love for all my weird, thick and thin
Open arms understanding with eyes that can see
The imperfectly made, kaleidoscope of me
A quiet, lonely soul, fascinated by the little things
Learning to love her, conquering the fear it brings
