Reality Check
Reality check
War it was adventurous
When I was just a child
Using sticks as rifles
We were always running wild
Jumping up and shouting bang
Was always so much fun
But it’s not same for soldiers
When they face a real gun
Every time that we were shot
We’d roll around in dirt
Get up shouting missed me
And it never really hurt
We were mighty heroes
Fighting baddies in the wood
But it’s not same for soldiers
When they’re dying in the mud
Someone somewhere would shout bang
And the war it would begin
But none of us were bad guys
So all of us would win
We’d go home and have our tea
Hungry little kids
But it’s not same for soldiers
When they close those coffin lids
