Reality

A broken door to nothingness
This is all I see
I either look or close my eyes
Both show me reality

A poisoned voice that’s held within
I can’t tell you the truth
Lies would just drag on my words
I thank the silence of my youth

A scar that gathers what it needs
A heart that turns away
A thief that hides so close to me
A shadow stalks me every day

I’m broken from the nothingness
I just can’t turn around
To forget the pain provokes my hate
But introspection tears me down

I’m lost from holding onto life
But I can’t step through the door
I can’t become what’s on the other side
But I can’t become this anymore

I’m patient in my waiting
I’m lonely but I see
I’m dying, but that’s good to know
At least I feel reality
