Real Shot Down

Understanding fell to steam In the closure of the past, Foundation lovelorn dream Was never built to last. The memories warp to stone They crumble at the feet, They once were polished chrome, So poignant, bittersweet. Suppose I aimed too low, You fixed below the waist; I tried to let you know You could not be replaced. That once reality, The sexual attract, Is dead and gone for me, You meant much more than that. Soft, wry accusing smiles, Tongue triggers to offend, You missed the point by miles, I'm real shot down, my friend. No agenda, just affection, Yet suspicious shadows fall; They beg me ask the question: Did you know me after all?
