Real Heroes Cry

My dad kept pacing the floor That whole day Just waiting For my son to arrive When he finally held him For the very first time I could see he Was overtaken with pride He sat and he stared For a moment Then the emotions He couldn't subside They came pouring forth From the sight of the birth And a teardrop Soon fell from his eyes Cause Real heroes cry Though most times they hide The toughest of men Will someday realize The tears that lay dormant Can well up inside It's then that you'll see That real heroes cry For me that same day Seemed so bittersweet I had just lost my grandpa 2 days prior, that same week I tried my best But it was quite the test To put my sorrow all aside But I didn't want to have my son See his own hero cry Cause real heroes cry Though most times they hide The toughest of men Will someday realize That with sorrow for those loved It's not about pride It's ok to let go Cause real heroes cry You don't have to be super Your just a man deep inside It's ok to let go Cause real heroes cry
