Ready to Sing

Love is not many a splendid thing
As Cupid’s dark arrow marks a sting
And poisons a heart ready to sing.

Her lover was a jack-a-dandy
For other ladies he was randy
Couldn’t keep it up
He’s nothing but a chump
Now face down in a pool of brandy

The fairy tale will never stop,
Its lie of happiness will always flop
With its happy-ever-after slop!
