Reading the Bible Or Serving An Idol

Reading the Bible? Or Serving An Idol? The other day I prayed and read my Bible. But soon afterward… I brought out my “idol.” This “idol” is something I’ve tried to hide. I can’t seem to let go of it. I’ve too much “pride.” This thing has brought “pleasure” for a time. But now has effected what’s in my mind! My prayer life isn’t what it used to be. I can’t “shake it.” It has a “hold” of me! This “idol” has taken up residence in my life. I’ve lost interest in my family and wife! It’s had an impact on what I’ve said and thought. I think; “what kind of lie have I really bought?” Only Jesus can give me the satisfaction I seek! I know that he is with me each day of the week! I decided to get rid of my “idol” and throw it away! I now enjoy God’s peace in my life every day! God has restored my trust and faityh in him! He’s brought restoration to my life and peace within! By Jim Pemberton
