Devil rose petals down at your feet
Tread lightly and softly for you may one day find what you seek
Pupil’s large brown in honest deceit
Look closely at the reflection before you sleep
Legs running to somewhere as the darkness does creep
Bright sun red orange golden fire deep
Still the devil throws rose petals down at your feet
Wiser you come to me with a tear on your cheek
Bitterness tastes like the fruits that we eat
Wash your body in the blue water and contemplate each
Horned devil whispers in the wind you cannot defeat
The white noise screams and makes eyes believe love is so bitter sweet
Devil rose petals down at your feet
I sit on a green chair in the woodland made of leaves and listen to the birds tweet
Do they sing because they need to converse or simply feel totally complete?
The devil tries to convince me that the world is horrid and visceral a total cheat
I step off the green chair and finally feel the earth between my feet
The devil was gone because I realized life is better lived in reality than anything thought weak
I walk and I stumble to fall on broken glass but manage to veer as my sights conviction focuses elite
