Reaching Up To Heaven

Reaching up to heaven
With outstretched hands
For there are so many times
He is the only one who understands
Me and my thoughts inside
From Him
I have nothing at all to hide
My darkest secrets are safe
He is my serenity
My great escape

Reaching up to heaven
As the sun begins to rise
Asking for forgiveness as I realize
I am only human
And I will fall from grace
But I must get back on my feet
And get back in the race
The end will come soon enough
I’m sure
And I will pass through the gates
Because my soul is pure
But for now I bide my time
As with each day
A new journey does begin
And as the sun slowly fades
You will find me
Reaching up to heaven

The End
