Reaching Through the Rain

She stands on her porch As she watches the rain Feeling the tears stream down her face. Showing all her pain. This can't be happening She sits and thinks . Everything was perfect Nothing needed to change. Always and Forever Is the promise they once made, But forever turns to never... When your world stops dead in place. It's all my fault She repeats in her head. I shouldn't have argued With what he said. But how was I to know That he would soon be dead. Never again will he walk these steps To greet her with a smile That she'll never forget. No more kisses in the park, Holding hands, Or touching each others hearts. Valentines Day will come and go As her lonely heart turns cold. Her anniversary she will dread Because it will remind her of his end. Never again will her heart sing Because he's in a place she can't reach. The wound he left will never heal, But it will slowly disappear. I'll never forget you She repeats, But everyone knows Her passion will become weak. As the rain stops pouring, And the sun shines through She feels him with her, And knows she'll make it through.
