Reaching For the Stars On a Budget Rev 2

There's not much time before my end, Still, this boy dreams of stars, One human life's not much to spend: Though Science shows me Mars And robots mask my frailties, My limbs feel my disease. Though beggars wait for food to drop, A feast's been spread that's free, Though some have toiled to plant this crop, It rarely has been me, Humility's the gift that's mine, Not wit or valentine. While Kings may cry, "I need a horse!" My legs have served me well, It's simple to complete the course, Though shadow's where I dwell, My soul's reward (a crown of gold?), God knows my heart I'm told. My debt's enormous, that's for sure, I see my life is blessed! But human wealth is never cure, My joy is sin confessed. For knowing sin can set me free, To be all I can be! Long Tooth April 10, 2018
