Reaching Deep To Rise Above

Placed by request with an arm raised,
to pledge to serve the American cause.
Reminisce at times, I do of past times,
and wondering if the present, weren't as it was.

For there are moments as a soldier,
when not all is right, with the massive world.
Consuming all the turmoil, in my very being,
while the outside starts to extremely unfurl.

Figuring how to deal with such madness,
in my own spirit, and my very own mind.
For all is there, I can not just say I don't see,
while pretending, that I'm suddenly blind.

For there maybe someone’s life, at stake,
depending on me, if they live or die.
I can't just contemplate and ask myself,
"For god sake, why them god, oh why!"

Interference from the scene, will then exist,
when what is expected needs, to be done.
Digging deep inside my very heart and soul,
I must, so I don't all of sudden, mentally run.

From the destiny to become an instrument,
to fulfill the duty, that is up and above.
To show what I'm capable of doing,
with the highest dedication and love.
