Rash Words

There were tears in her eyes,
When he caused her to cry,
By saying their love could not be.
Now he breathes a sad sigh,
As he asks himself why
He ever did long to be free.

His poor heart is on fire;
Love's flames burning higher;
As he watches her walk out the door.
She's his only desire,
He knows he was a liar,
When he said that he loved her no more.
