Rapture

Tis merriment I feel on this night
as a songbird that's taken flight

I relish such a warm fuzzy feeling
as it sends my mind for to reeling

the Rapture does come with bows and
I am the elect one of the 144,000

and I'll leave the earthly realm behind
til the right moment is to be defined

the modern Earth will be for our pleasure
perhaps Atlantis and all it's treasure

then we'll rule in Heaven evermore
after the dragon is then slain in war

peace and love will soon be prevalent
and winning battles will be irrelevant

you shall spot me as the gazing fawns
for I'll serve here til that day dawns

Rapture will come to all those who merit it by their good life and deeds. I believe in an after life....and eternal happiness. ~ Regards // paul

Loved your poem, so I read it again. The Book of Revelations is written in so mystic inspiration that it is difficult to understand. Only one thing is important. In the end Jesus is the winner. ~~

You're the best of 'the lot,' Angie! (144 is 'a lot' of eggs or whatever). Smiles, Gershon

"the modern Earth will be for our pleasure perhaps Atlantis and all it's treasure" - this part delights me.

Much to think about. But I believe Heaven is open to all who want it. ~~

Thank you for reading, Victor. I always appreciate your comments on my poems. There's a lot of controversy about the Book of Revelations. I also believe that Heaven is open to all. The 144,000 is supposedly the first to go. :)
