Random Acts of Kindness Day
Kindness isn’t always fun.
Maybe it’s carrying a spider out of the hot sun!
Helping him onto the best plant to climb.
Maybe giving him a dime.
He has spiky legs and eyes of four.
He spins a web, always seeming sure.
And hands me a web shaped as a flower bouquet.
It strikes me as weird so I don’t know what to say.
Maybe we could all stand to crawl once in a while.
Enjoy hand spun things that make us smile.
Kindness isn’t always typical.
Sometimes it’s just a flower as small as a thimble.
Who knew a spider could make my day?
I didn’t have much to say.
Maybe sometime I’ll knit him a sweater.
But maybe tiny shoes would be better!
Kindness isn’t always graceful.
Sometimes it’s spiky feet by the handful.
