Rainy Days and Mondays
Still a-bed, early morn
Been pouring since the break of dawn.
It woke me up, the teeming rain
As it strummed against my window pane.
Not much daylight there at all,
A slate grey sky adorned the squall.
A dreary Monday lay ahead,
How cosy just to stay in bed.
Get up! cried the shrill alarm,
A noise devoid of cheer or charm.
Under protest, up I get,
I've never loved a Monday yet.
