Rainy Day
I watch the raindrops falling
like the tears inside my heart.
Staring at the razor wire and bars
that keep us far apart.
Just a rainy day in Georgia
so far from my Indiana home.
Locked away like I've always been,
but my mind is free to roam.
It takes me back to just last year
the sweetest year of my life.
It takes me to where I yearn to be
at the side of my loving wife.
