Raindrops' Respite

Thunder threatens to split open scared sky, Lightning lightens up the moody madcap weather, Delightful downpour plashing patters, Sultry summer cools down, God's blessing bestowed, Refreshing rain drenches driveways, Shifty showers gush from dark-grey clad clouds, Raindrops' respite from heat helps us wind down. Syllable count: 10.12.9.11.8.10.10 ('driveways' counted as 2 syllables, HMS wrongly counts it as 3) 1st May 2023 Contest: Alliterisen Sponsor: Joseph May

Joanna, a big CONGRATS on your win! (You're right about HMS. It's fallible; so is Rhyme Zone!) Janice

You wrote beautifully in this difficult to execute form. Splendid imagery, Jo. No doubt a winner.

Joanna, You have sculpted an intensely lyrical and haunting piece with seamless flow and immaculate word choice. Raindrops’ Respite is an original title as a bonus. I’m deeply flattered by your generous comments on my entry and of course the first place podium medal. So glad it met with your approval. It was an absolute pleasure working with you on this project Warm wishes, Howard
