Rain Kissed

Angels smiled down that night, shedding rapt tears upon love lit by tender starlight beneath the fragrant knot of pines. Lips and tongues aflame with gentle, perfect fire, under a blanket of tepid dusk, eyes softly shut against trespass. Droplets tapped ripples upon ebony water, beat in time with both hearts and she knew then the meaning of love, that she might fly with angels. If each pulse had stopped there and then; if each breath had stilled and failed to start again, this perfect coalition would live forever. For she knew then the meaning of love, that she might fly with angels…
