Rain

Looking out my window as the sky goes dark Watching as the trees dance wildly, happy as a lark The wind singing as it races, making sounds of a race track Then little droplets of rain start to fall Lightly at first, then picking up speed as though answering an urgent call I love it when it rains It finally slows everything calm The air now fresh and sweet a healing balm Butterflies and insects fill the area I love it when it rains Especially after a hot afternoon in my Nigeria
