Ragged Breaths

It was the flute,
shoot me
if I'm mistaken.
that first stole my heart.

she played arrogantly
intuitively
magnificently
I watched her artistry
with tears in my eyes.

that was a fortune of years ago
spent, now
just old memories of
music I have loved and
she
who played.
