Notes About The Poem

For Bite Size Contest No.137 Poetry Contest sponsored by Line Gauthier

Radio Nights

I laid alone in the night's still,
a radio to my ear...until
into my friendless mind would seep
the liquid melodies of teenage sleep -
as it would slowly fill.

The radio is my grown up invisible friend. Your clever words completely resonated with me as the radio tells me my bedtime stories to quieten my day and help me drift off each night.

Glad to hear you can relate. In elementary school, I would listen to Dodgers games, in high school I, lost interest and would listen to music programs, and in college, I would play Joan Baez folk albums when I couldn't sleep. The radio can really keep you company!
