Radio Dies

He fell asleep with the ignition on. The smoke filled the car in such a way, The outside became a dim haze. Such an easy way to miss what’s going on. As the night covers what was once the day, He’s captivated by depressing ways. Slowly the radio dies to a simmer, Contently waiting as the car breaks down. Vocals spanning the essence of life force. He’s never been a strong swimmer, So let the ocean continue to drown, As he screams along with the garbled chorus. I can see the visage standing before me, Like a ghost glimmering in the night sky. But nobody is really there, is she real? Water fills the lungs for eternity. It seems like it’s impossible to die, When told it takes time to heal. You pulled me away from the fiery crash, But did you wish I was somebody else? The decision not permanent just too rash, As he sat on the highway, thoughts of killing himself.
