Racial Divide
My dearest friends and family, I stand before you with a heavy heart
I saw an ad on face book, not worth the powder to blow it apart
I was shocked and disturbed at what I saw before my eyes
I was hoping it was just more fake news and not another racial divide
This ad that I saw was for a special kind of app
It was showing you where to shop, it was for supporting businesses that were only black
Maybe I’m crazy and maybe I’m wrong
this to me seems so racist and just doesn’t belong
This is just modern segregation can we really be this dumb?
Let’s open our eyes and notice how far we have actually come.
What comes next in 2020, is it fairy dust and pixies
or are we stuck in a time loop and headed straight back to the sixties?
I want you to really think about this next line, it concerns every one of us
where do you want to actually sit, in the front or in the back of this bus?
No matter how you coat it with sugar, it’s still segregation
Why can’t we treat each other as equals and live as one across every nation?
