Race
A love that would have been
He was dark I was light
That’s all they could see
A lower class, a different class
Its just no good to ask
It was all a farce
Blinded by ignorance, rumours
None of them were true
Only was my love for Drew
Friends shunned me
Just when I needed them
Relatives became my enemies
Everyone was told
No one listened to my heart
Only the gossips of the cold
Now I sit, I pity them
In happiness of my love
We’re together now
Me and Drew, alone, above.
