Questions Left Unanswered
Why do you say you love me yet cling to your possessions?
If I had to leave today, what would be your confession?
Would it break your heart to lose me, to not see my face?
Or would you confront the truths in this empty space?
Are you hiding feelings, afraid to let them show?
Worried that if you reveal them, I’ll want to let you go?
Why do you turn silent, leaving me in despair?
Lost in a sea of questions and drowning, yet you’re unaware.
How long must I carry the burden of the past?
Will you lower your defenses so that our love can surpass?
I want to love you wholly, just as you are today,
The taste of bittersweet love is a delicacy that I crave.
Do you think of me often, as I think of you?
Or am I just a fleeting thought, easily pushed on through?
Am I a part of your future, or a ghost from the past?
Is your cruelty a test, to see how long I’ll last?
Am I a priority, or merely an option in your life?
Why do you find fault in every effort I strive?
Will you share the answers I long to hear each day?
Will you stand up for our love and chase the fear away?
Can't you see I’m here to catch you if you fall?
To lift you when you’re weary, to be your strength through it all.
Will you answer these questions that weigh upon my soul?
Will you hold our love close and never let it go?
