Questions From a Child

What happens when
the sun shines bright?

What happens when
everythings alright?

Is it that feeling
of standing tall and high?

Is it that twinkle
in the sky?

Whats underneath
your mask?

Why do you hide
from everything I ask?

Who is it that
makes you smile?

Even just for a little while?

Who would you give
your heart out to if you could?

Do you even think you should?

Does it hurt
when you fall?

Do you even feel anything at all?

Are you afraid of the end?

To me its just a friend.

It sounds like you are asking questions of someone who is very reserved and afraid to express their emotions. As for your final question, I am not "afraid of the end" for, like you, "To me it's just a friend." We have nothing to fear from eternal life. And what a beautiful name you have! Alyssa is the name I chose for the lead character in a novel I'm writing now. Welcome to Poetry Soup! This is an outstanding poem. Best Wishes, Carolyn
