Questions

I needed you so much
in those lonely old days
when the house was dark
and the backyard as well
when the dolls didn't fill up
the empty space
that I had in between my heart
and my brain.

You left me the rocks
and left me the dust
and left me your shadow
in the dark
you left me the monsters
for me to ask
those innocent questions
for you I had.
