Puzzle Pieces
Designed to attract anyone who saw
A simple yet elegant beauty
Combined with sincerity and mystery which left you in awe
Consumed by a strong desire that I carry still today
I poured out every piece I had
And began building a surrounding wall to ensure the plastic people would stay
Meticulously I chose each piece to entwine with its perfect fit
Becoming a slave to its creation
I set each piece together in order to create it
Some pieces were complex with many different aspects to their form
Some were plain without any sparkle or appeal
While the others created a storm
Each piece was unique and completely different from the rest
Struggling to decipher how to put them together
This desire became an obsession as well as a test
Only a few people cared to help me mold it
Some were too self- absorbed
While others tried forcing pieces together that didn’t fit
Only a couple more pieces left to complete its final mold
Suddenly my project halted to a stop
Eager to finish to see the entire image that would unfold
It was missing one last piece to make it whole
Searching and searching desperately to find it
But it had vanished making it impossible to complete this goal
I couldn’t shake the void it left behind
A never ending search began again
Looking for the missing piece that I can never find
