Putting Memories To Words

My 9 to 5 is alright
But my dream job's kinda like a curse
I look back upon my hard times
And relive them in each verse

I'm recounting, and its astounding
All the things that made me hurt
It's not easy being me
Putting memories to words

Memories of how I felt when she left me
Memories of those that I've lost
The cost is high they live and die
In each one of my works
It's not easy being me
Putting memories to words

Hind sights 20/20
Now I see where I went wrong
And a smart man would leave the past
Right where it belongs

I've tried to paraphrase my better days
But it never seems to work
So here I am again, livin' through my pen
Putting memories to words

Memories of how I felt when she left me
Memories of those that I've lost
The cost is high they live and die
In each one of my works
It's not easy being me
Putting memories to words

If someone sings it, someone's lived it
Its kind of like a curse
Here I am again, livin' through my pen
Putting memories to words
