Put Your Tongue Behind Your Brain
In one's life, there's a possible runner
in fact a certain runner full of bolt
that if not controlled will outrun you
so keep your guard on make it jolt
God has given you the gift of a brain
use it for your own good, no shame
listen well to Mt Spurgeon for he knows
that godliness is better than any fame
It's really an awful terrible pest to you
this tongue comes back, again and again,
wish at times you could cut it off completely
but think of the blood, the mess and the pain
But being filled with God's spirit
standing on his truth so divine
on your knees at his blessed throne
you can say this Jesus is truly mine
So use your brains keeping tongue at bay
have it under control behind your brain
grace is given to act and be wise
to make sure that you don't end like Cain
(' Beware of letting your tongue outrun your brain' Quote by
C. H. Spurgeon)
