Put the Holy Back In the Holidays

A Child was foretold
By prophets of old
He would come and peace would He bring.
One bright blessed morn
To a Virgin born
Emmanuel, our Savior and King.

We know He lived, and yet
So quickly we forget
Amidst the thoughts of tinsel and toys.
Turn your thoughts instead
As you lay in bed
To the Child Who brings peace and joy…

Let’s put the holy back in the holidays.
This Christmas let us not forget the Christ.
He truly is the reason
We celebrate the season.
He alone the Way, the Truth, the Life.

Let’s put the holy back in the holidays.
Let’s not let the world get in the way.
Keep your thoughts upon the Child
And His mother, pure and mild.
And have yourself a merry Christmas day!
