Purple Lipstick

your purple lipstick and bright blue eyes
long blonde hair and magnificent thighs
my heart pounding so fast and my hands are all sweaty
my mouth starts to dry and my mind like spaghetti

I started to daydream about you in my life
and naming our children with you as my wife
a house in the country surrounded by hills
never having to worry about paying our bills

lighting the fire from the logs we collected
putting the guard up so the kids are protected
our youngest would get the playing cards out from the drawer
and make us all sit together crossed legged on the floor

as each child grew wings that saw them all fly our nest
we did travel the world leaving no time to rest
living our life in our Volkswagon van
as the chasers of sun to help you top up your tan

your golden brown skin and your shiny grey hair
the ankle bracelet that’s fraying over the converse you wear
returning home in our van you start the walk to the door
giving a wave to the neighbour stood outside number four

a life we did lead and there’s more left for us
our kids have had kids with our job just to fuss
as my memory fades about our travels and trips
I hope ill never forget my girl with purple lips
