Purple Heart
A great warrior he was at only eighteen
During a war that was overseas
Wounded in battle shot in his head
Laid there for hours he was almost dead
A Purple Heart he received for his wounds
No medal in this world could save his mind
Not even over time and In his coffin he laid
Where I placed his purple heart for the last time
