Pure Rain

Pure rain

My memories are reflections of puddles in the rain
You are a torrent that crashes through my brain
I see you always when the clouds are covering my pain
How can I ignore you when you are the love I lost in vain?

I see immortal that is you and I reclaimed
I see my battle of my passion written to the blamed
I see before me of times spent lost and cast and chained
I see the glory of what was pure in substance yet time lost its shining flame

You never knew me but I was always calling out your name
You looked right through me out of ignorance and shame
You didn’t deserve me as you took my heart then squeezed the last blood out of every vein
You are my memory that somehow flourished then I saw you with him no more you rein
